Poor Man's Fish Recipe


Equipment

Saucepan
Gas Stove (do not use digital stove!)
Wooden Spoon
Storage Container


Ingredients

Canned Sardines (x1)
Soy Sauce (x2 tablespoon)
Raw Sugar (x2 tablespoon)
Water (1⁄2 cup)


Preparation

1. Add water, raw sugar and soy sauce to saucepan, bring to boil
2. When liquid has boiled, reduce to lowest heat possible
3. Add canned sardines
4. Simmer for 10 minutes, turning sardines once
5. When liquid has reduced to soft caramel texture, turn off heat
6. Allow saucepan and fish to rest for 15-30 minutes


Notes

* Do not use digital stove, as fish are sensitive to heat source
* Preferred resting time is overnight in refrigerator
* Store in a container
* Will keep in refrigerator for up to one week
